KHDK Electronics Launches First Guitar Line
KHDK Electronics, a brand recognized for its Kirk Hammett Signature pedals, has made a bold and unexpected move by launching its first line of guitars. This debut took place during the Guitar Summit 2025, drawing attention for its unconventional proposal and unique shapes that are likely to elicit mixed opinions.
Originally a boutique pedal manufacturer, KHDK has now ventured into the world of six-string instruments. After more than a decade in the market and collaborations with notable figures such as Chino Moreno (Deftones), Mille Petrozza (Kreator), and Zacky Vengeance (Avenged Sevenfold), KHDK has decided to broaden its horizons.
According to the brand itself, the intention is to offer something distinct from the ordinary. When a follower commented on the “unattractive” designs in comparison to classic guitars, the response was straightforward: “We love ugly guitars.” This statement encapsulates the provocative spirit of the new line.
The models introduced reflect clear references to historical icons but with a touch of irreverence. The lineup features options directed towards metal, as well as more traditional versions that appeal to guitarists from various styles. The outcome is a collection of guitars that balance familiarity and strangeness, evoking curiosity at first glance.
Les Paul Style Model
This model is equipped with P-90 pickups combined with a Bigsby vibrato, evoking a vintage feel. The design aims to deliver a classic tone alongside modern features, appealing to musicians in search of versatility.
Z Style Model
Inspired by lines from Gibson and ESP, the design adheres to the tradition of more aggressive guitars. Its angular silhouette enhances its appeal to metal guitarists while maintaining an element of elegance.
Double-Cut Inspired by SG
In this instance, KHDK opted for a reinterpretation of the iconic SG, emphasizing sharper angles. The appearance is bold, while the construction retains familiar characteristics, such as a TOM bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece.
Technical Details Draw Attention
One of the most discussed features is the truss rod adjustment system. Unlike most brands, the adjustment wheel is embedded in the neck of the guitar, an uncommon solution that may appeal to users due to its practicality. Other specifications include block inlays and the use of Bigsby tremolos, emphasizing the attention given to finishes.
Currently, there are no details available regarding the pricing of the guitars.
